Mario Toneguzzi’s guests on Health Insider: Dr. Michael Giuffre, Alberta’s nominee for President-Elect for the Canadian Medical Association this year, and Dr. Christine Molnar, Immediate Past President, Alberta Medical Association.
The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) is a national organization with membership across the country. The CMA presidency is rotated alphabetically by provinces and territories. Alberta members of the CMA will present a nominee for confirmation at the CMA AGM/General Council meeting in August to become CMA President Elect. If Alberta’s choice is ratified, that person will become CMA President in 2022. Candidate information is posted on cma.ca. CMA physician members in Alberta will be invited to vote between February 11-25.
Dr. Giuffre’s bio and his reasons for pursuing the CMA President Elect position can be found here. More information about his philanthropy and giving back to the community can be found here. A story about his experience and belief about the importance of business in medicine can be found here.
