Manpower News Release
According to the latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey, Calgary area employers expect a favourable hiring climate for the fourth quarter of 2021.
“Survey data reveals that 37% of Calgary employers plan to hire for the upcoming quarter, while 15% anticipate cutbacks,” stated Randy Upright, CEO of Manpower’s Alberta Region. “38% of employers plan to maintain their current staffing levels in the upcoming quarter, and the remaining 10% are unsure of their hiring intentions.”
“With seasonal variations removed from the data, Calgary’s fourth quarter Net Employment Outlook of +19% is a 13-percentage point increase from the previous Quarterly Outlook and a 21-percentage point increase from the Outlook reported during the same time last year,” said Upright. “We can see this as an upbeat outlook for the months ahead.”
“Active hiring prospects across the board is great news for Canadian job seekers, for whom numerous opportunities will be available in the coming quarter,” said Darlene Minatel, Country Manager of ManpowerGroup Canada. “With the majority of employers reporting some difficulty hiring due to talent shortages, we are seeing a new level of amenability towards job flexibility and a strong commitment to technical and soft skills training. Understanding what workers want and providing a culture of learnability are key to filling the talent gap.”
